Put chicken breats (skinless) in it with mushroom soup and let it go all day, then use over brown rice. Also, corn beef works well, just put the vegatables in later on in the cooking process.

All the time for things like chili or beef stew.

Also if I'm craving pulled pork of pulled beef (chuck roast) and don't have the time to tend the fire on my smoker all day, I'll throw it in with some onions, garlic and some stock and let it go while I'm at work.

Chilis.
Beef Stews.

After overcooking and making everything well-done, I realized a little baking at lower heat enhances the taste.

Whether it is on the stove or in the oven.

and yes, I sound like a Food network homo but since I've retired cooking has been an enjoyable hobby for me.

Good stuff here, haven't used my crock pot except to cook chitterlins once a year. I'll have to try this stuff and get the specifics. That kiebalsa recipe sounds awesome!

But ofcourse back in my Nebraska days we'd cook pheasant with a can of condensed mushroom soup.

Gamey but good!

Quail probably better but I never ate much quail.

Don't use mine nearly enough. Thanks for those quick, easy recipes, Buster.

I am on some guy's weekly Crock Recipe email blast; here was this week's recipe:

Creole Beef and Pepper Strips with Curly Noodles

3/4 pound boneless beef round steak
1 green or red bell pepper chopped
1 medium onion chopped
1 clove garlic crushed
1 medium tomato chopped
1 beef bouillon cube
1/2 cup boiling water
1 Tbs chopped parsley
1 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
2 Tbs cornstarch
2 Tbs cold water
6 ounces curly noodles

Slice steak into diagonal strips bout 1/4 inch thick.
Combine steak, pepper, onion, garlic and tomato in a 3
1/2 quart slow cooker. Dissolve bouillon cube in boiling
water. Add to slow cooker with parsley, thyme, salt and
pepper. Cover and cook on low about 7 hours or until
steak is tender. Turn control to HIGH. In a small bowl,
dissolve cornstarch in cold water. Stir into slow cooker.
Cover and cook on HIGH about 10 minutes or until slightly
thickened. Meanwhile, cook noodles according to package
directions and drain. Spoon steak mixture over the
noodles. Makes 5 or 6 servings.

Used mine today for the first time in like 6 months. It was great coming home from work to a hot, tasty meal.

- 2 large chicken breasts
- 2 small cans of condensed cream of celery soup
- fresh mushrooms, carrots, snap peas, asparagus, green pepper and an onion.
- salt & pepper.

so good.

Great Roast

Take a roast (any kind) and throw in the crock. Take a box of wild rice (I love Zataran's) and follow insturctions to the T and cook while you are work. The meat picks up the seasoning from the rice and vice versa. Throw some carrots in there if you need a veggie!

Was about to try some ribs in the crock tonight...Decided on slow baking them in the oven then finishing em off on the BBQ...On the menu for tommorow will probably be crock pot london broil, with mexican seasoning, corona beer, diced tomatos and green chiles and a little hot sauce for some awesome burritos...
